UNIVERSITY OF PIRAEUS RESEARCH CENTER: “Development of tailor-made e-Learning Courses”

The aim of the project is to create twelve tailor-made e-learning courses for academic purposes. The procurement contract was awarded to Athens Technology Center (ATC) by the University of Piraeus on February 2004. The project team designed, developed, authored, published and supported the required e-learning content for the following ICT-related subject-matter areas:

  • Information Systems
  • Databases
  • Object-oriented Programming and Web Programming

All twelve courses are divided into modules that are composed of learning objects. Moreover, ATC and the University set up the required ratio of classroom to e-learning in order to design the appropriate course structure. Hence, the original learning material used and delivered to students in lectures, seminars, tutorials and labs was restructured according to e-learning standards into topics for each of the aforementioned subject-matter areas. Students who register online and complete the prescribed self-paced training acquire technical skills and expertise in programming and computer science.

The project began in February 2004 and was completed in June 2004.
